Dr. Kolton is a registered psychologist with extensive experience in clinical and forensic psychology. His practice includes comprehensive assessment and treatment services for adults presenting with a wide range of psychological concerns, including trauma, addictions, occupational stress, and mental health challenges related to public safety and high-stress professions. He has significant experience providing consultation and clinical services to law enforcement personnel, first responders, and clients involved with Workers Compensation Board (WCB) and Manitoba Public Insurance (MPI) programs.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Kolton has specialized expertise in forensic assessment and treatment of individuals involved with the criminal justice system, including those assessed as high risk or with complex mental health needs. His background includes several years of service as a Forensic Clinical Psychologist at the Health Sciences Centre and Selkirk Mental Health Centre, and previous employment with the Correctional Service of Canada at the Regional Psychiatric Centre (Abbotsford, BC) and Stony Mountain Institution in Manitoba. He is a recognized expert in Manitoba courts in forensic psychology.

Prior to joining FPS full time in 2006, Dr. Kolton served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Clinical Health Psychology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Manitoba. He completed his undergraduate degree in Psychology at the University of Manitoba and earned his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Simon Fraser University.
