If you provide information that results in the FPS team believing that a child is or might be in need of protection either from yourself or others, representatives of FPS are required to report this information to the local child welfare agency. This includes information suggesting that a child is or might be neglected, abused, or is in danger of being abused. Information about past abuse committed or experienced by yourself or others that suggests a child is currently in need of protection will also need to be reported.
