Steve Plenert

Healthy Home Apartment Coordinator

Steve Plenert is a Healthy Home Apartment Coordinator who joined FPS in 2020 and loves the challenge of the dynamic environment and satisfaction of meeting critical community needs with clients. His experience includes having been a Peer Tutor at Headingly Correctional Centre, Peace Program Coordinator for Mennonite Central Committee, and director of a relief, development and peace organization in Bolivia. Steve has participated in various Indigenous-Settler reconciliation initiatives over the past decade, including TRC sessions, he has mentored young emerging Muslim leaders, and done pastoral counselling. He knows the value of a non-anxious presence in moments of crisis and has cultivated the skill of composure and de-escalation. In his spare time, Steve enjoys sports and relaxing with a crossword puzzle.
