Ms. Charlene Yaworsky is a Certificated Canadian Counsellor with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. Charlene obtained her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology in from Brandon University 1998 and her Masters of Education in Counselling Psychology from Brandon University in 2016. Charlene also holds specialized training focusing on attachment treatment models with Levels 1 and 2 of Theraplay training and assessment along with Level One of Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy. She also has obtained specialized training in trauma treatment and interventions with the Intergenerational Trauma Treatment Model. Additionally, she possesses training from evidence-based approaches in Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectic Behavioural Therapy and Expressive Therapies.
As a psychotherapist in the FPS Brandon office, Charlene brings with her 20 years of experience in working with adults, children and families in the Westman area. Well versed in the areas of child welfare, justice and courts, Charlene incorporates a Systems based perspective into her practice in order to promote increased well-being and healing. She has worked with families and individuals impacted by trauma, familial separation, mental health, abuse and violence of all forms. Her clinical interests lay in the areas of supporting individuals and families increase their resiliency and resolve the impact from trauma, supporting family reunification when there has been separation due to abuse or violence and strengthening the parent-child relationship and attachment bonds.
